Dunlop has rolled into our 21st year as the Official Control tyre of the Repco Supercars Championship with a striking new tyre. 

The new Dunlop SP Sport Maxx SuperSoft control tyre made its first appearance at in 2022 with striking blue branding. 

The SuperSoft compound is designed to spice up the racing action as they provide improved grip on rough track surfaces but are deliberately designed to wear after about 60kms. Supercar drivers have commented favourably about the handling characteristics of the SP Sport Maxx SuperSofts. 

We have already seen some exciting racing as team strategists roll the dice on which stage of the race they “bolt on” the SuperSofts. Starting with the SuperSofts gives them early speed, while deciding to put the SuperSofts on for the 2nd stint allows those drivers to fly home.

What is a Directional tyre? Directional tyres are identified due to their distinct, one-way tread patterns, with a tread “flow” that suggests a rolling direction. The tyre tread pattern is designed in the shape of the letter “V” or “U”.

One advantage of this tyre design is increased resistance to aquaplaning in wet conditions. A handy feature recently in Eastern Australia. The Dunlop Direzza DZ102 is one such Directional tyre, so we are proud to announce that the upgraded Dunlop Direzza DZ102+ has just been released in Australia and New Zealand, offering both improved wet weather braking and wet weather handling over the DZ102 predecessor.

The Direzza DZ102+ performance improvements are a result of clever changes to the rubber compound without needing to change the tread pattern from the Direzza DZ102. The sidewall is changed to show the new name accordingly.

Dunlop tyres OE on Toyota Landcruiser 300

The theme of the Toyota Landcruiser 300 launch was “Drives Us Home”. The locations featured the best of outback Australia, with some beautiful places on show. 

The new Landcruiser 300 is fitted with Dunlop Grandtrek AT30 tyre across all of the vehicle variants. This tyre pattern was purposely developed for the Landcruiser 300 in a joint project between Toyota and Dunlop. 

The result is a tyre that offers excellent fuel economy performance and off-road performance, thanks to its new tread pattern design, tread compound and improved inner construction.

The Dunlop Grandtrek AT30 has been designed to provide outstanding traction on off-road surfaces like Australia’s rough roads, sand and deserts. 

A new tread compound enables the enhanced wear life with the shallow depth, so it can reduce the tyre weight and minimise the rolling resistance.

These tyre qualities are crucial

Team USA secured a historic Motocross of Nations (MXoN) victory on Sunday, winning with Dunlop Geomax MX14 tyres on home soil at RedBud. Dunlop tyres were the choice of more winners than any other brand in this highly competitive event.

For the first time in 11 years, Team USA won the Chamberlain Trophy at the MXoN, having overcome tough competition from Team Australia and Team France. This unique event features three riders from each country, each competing in two of the day’s three final races. For the winning team, the results and teamwork of Eli Tomac, Justin Cooper and Chase Sexton combined to score the best overall result.

There was more Dunlop success for other teams, too. Australian rider Jett Lawrence won the second race and followed up with a runner-up position in the final round. Team Australia proved to be one of the Americans’ closest competitors, alongside France, whose Dunlop rider Dylan Ferrandis picked up a fourth-place finish at the end of the
